Embraer lands with new jet at WDL-Aviation Cologne – four Embraer E190 aircraft acquired

Cologne, 11 February 2019

The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer presented the Cologne-based airline WDL-Aviation with an E 190 family jet on Monday. The machine with the eye-catching paint job, reminiscent of the heraldic animal of the Cologne ice hockey club “Haie”, was received by the management of the WDL and the Zeitfracht Group, which owns the WDL.Numerous visitors, press representatives and company employees followed the arrival of the jet at Cologne/Bonn Airport.WDL-Aviation acquired four jets in November to replace its current fleet of BAE146 jets. The first jet will be delivered to the Cologne company at the end of the month. All aircraft are to be registered with WDL by the middle of the year. Walter Böhnke, Managing Director of WDL-Aviation, said: “We are looking forward to the flotation of the Embraer E190 jets in Cologne.This marks an important step for our company. We will be able to offer customers a new, improved flight experience.”Wolfram Simon-Schröter, Managing Director of the Zeitfracht Group added: “With the renewal of our fleet, we are consistently continuing our growth plans in the aviation sector.” The Embraer Fleet is characterized by a modern design. The twin-jet jets offer space for about 100 passengers. WDL-Aviation, a member of the Zeitfracht Group, has been based at Cologne/Bonn Airport since 1987. It is one of Europe’s leading providers of charter services for its aircraft including crew and maintenance for commercial and private purposes.
